Privacy Policy

Last updated September 30, 2026

Gather&Go is a service for verified adults who want to meet in person for real activities. Because members meet face to face, trust and privacy matter more here than almost anywhere else. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we need it, who can see it, and how you remove it.

Gather&Go is operated by Sean Park, a sole proprietorship based in Alberta, Canada. We are the controller of the information described below.

Who can use Gather&Go

Gather&Go is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Every account passes an age and identity check before it can join or host anything. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we delete it and its data.

What we collect

Account details. Your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form).

Profile details. Your display name, username, profile photo, gender, general home area, and anything you choose to add later such as a short bio or interests.

Age and identity verification. To confirm you are a real adult, our verification partner checks a government ID and a live selfie. That process happens on the partner's own secure page. We never receive or store a copy of your ID document or your selfie — we keep only the outcome (passed or failed), your verified age, and a reference number.

Location. Your general home area is used to show activities near you. Your precise coordinates are used only when you choose to check in at an activity you joined, so hosts can confirm attendance. Precise coordinates are never shown to other members.

Activity and safety data. The activities you host or join, your chat messages, ratings and reviews you give and receive, attendance history, points and badges, referrals, and any reports or blocks you submit.

Payments. If you subscribe to Premium, payment is handled by our payment processors or by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We never see or store your full card number. We keep only your plan, status, renewal date and a processor reference.

Device and usage data. Basic technical information such as device type, app version, a notification token if you allow alerts, and error diagnostics that help us fix crashes.

Optional background screening. If we offer background screening and you choose it, the screening provider collects your consent and personal history on its own page. We store only the outcome, a reference number and the expiry date — never the report itself.

Why we use it

To create and secure your account, and to confirm you are a verified adult.

To show you relevant activities and let you host, join, chat and check in.

To keep members safe: enforcing eligibility rules, reviewing reports, acting on blocks, and removing abusive accounts.

To run ratings, points, badges, streaks and referrals.

To process subscriptions and honour entitlements.

To send you notifications you asked for — join requests, approvals, chat messages and activity reminders. You can turn every category off in Settings.

To fix problems, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal obligations.

What other members can see

Other verified members can see your display name, username, profile photo, verified badges, general activity history, and the ratings you have received.

They cannot see your email address, your exact address or coordinates, your date of birth, your ID documents, your payment details, or any report you filed.

An activity's exact address and its guest list unlock only for members the host has accepted.

Who we share with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never sell or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We share only what is needed with service providers who work on our behalf: our cloud database and hosting provider, our identity verification partner, our payment processors and the app stores, our push notification provider, our advertising partner for the ads shown to free members in the phone app, and — if you opt in — our background screening provider. Each is bound to use the information only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of a member or the public.

Advertising

Free members using the phone app may see ads. Ads never appear on activity pages, in chats, in Settings, or during sign-up and verification. Premium members see no ads at all. Our advertising partner may use a device advertising identifier; on iOS you will be asked before any tracking, and you can refuse at any time in your device settings.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, messages, join requests and personal content are erased immediately.

We keep a small amount of information longer where we must: safety reports and records of removed accounts (so banned members cannot simply return), verification results, and basic billing records required by tax and accounting law.

Your choices and rights

Delete your account at any time. Open Settings, scroll to Delete account, and confirm. No email to us is needed. If automatic renewal is still on, cancel your subscription first so you are not billed again.

Edit or correct your details. Your profile, home area and preferences are all editable in the app.

Control notifications and location. Turn notification categories off in Settings, and revoke camera or location permission in your device settings at any time.

Access, portability and objection. Depending on where you live, you may ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or erase it, or object to certain uses. Email us and we will respond within the time your local law allows.

Security

Access to your data is restricted by row-level rules on our database, so one member cannot read another member's private information. Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and sensitive credentials are held server-side only. No service can promise perfect security, but we treat member safety as the product itself.

International transfers

Gather&Go is available internationally, and our providers may process data in Canada, the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change we will update the date above and, where the change matters to you, tell you in the app before it takes effect.
